FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

Please refer to the services and cost page for the most up to date insurance information. It is the goal of Merkle Wellness Solutions to offer insurance coverage on as many plans as possible but it is a slow process to be approved in network.

What is the cost of working with you?

Again, please refer to the services and cost page for the most up to date fees for services. If insurance coverage isn’t an option for you, we offer a liberal prompt/cash pay discount. Additionally, you can use your HSA or FSA to pay for appointments.

How do I schedule?

Right here! We partner with an Electronic Medical Record called Healthie which is built to be totally private (HIPPA compliant) for you and offers many conveniences....like online scheduling.

You are also welcome to contact us via phone or email and we have a fax line available for referrals from physicians.

What if I'm interested but not ready to schedule?

No worries! Hang out here on the website or social media to learn more about diabetes specific nutrition and general healthy eating. If you want updates when we release new content, I suggest signing up for emails (at the bottom of this page). We are here to serve you wherever you are in your health journey.

Who do you work with?

I work with clients who are interested in managing diabetes, insulin resistance or losing weight most of the time, but have worked with many different clinical conditions over the years and am happy to help with a variety of nutrition related problems - or point you in the direction of someone with a specialty that better meets your needs.

Because I offer client specific, medical nutrition therapy, which is licensed and regulated state to state, I only work with clients who are residents of Ohio.

Why are you State specific?

Because I offer client specific, medical nutrition therapy, which is licensed and regulated state to state, I only work with clients who are residents of Ohio.

I am a registered dietitian, which is a national registration for the education, internship and exam I completed, but am also licensed in the state of Ohio to practice medical nutrition therapy. Each state has different licensure laws and regulations, Ohio is the only state I am currently licensed in.

What's the difference between practitioner providing medical nutrition therapy and nutrition coach? I'm confused.

First, it is confusing. Especially the world of food and nutrition with so many health products, claims and practitioners out there.

As a practitioner providing medical nutrition therapy, I can work with you and your health situation making recommendations specific to you. A coach can only give you general health information that would be applicable to the population at large.

As a registered dietitian I have a bachelors degree in nutrition and dietetics in addition to an internship in a variety of nutrition care settings, passed a national exam and complete a minimum of 75 continuing education credits every 5 years. Nutrition coach certifications and education requirements vary widely and are not regulated, to my knowledge, on a state or national level.

What if I live in greater Cincinnati/Dayton?

While I would love to meet with you in person, I do not have a physical office at this time. For now, I'm meeting with everyone via Telehealth offered through my electronic medical record, Healthie. It’s HIPPA compliant and your privacy is a protected priority.

On a case by case basis, I can make a visit to your home.
